It’s the 1st of September tomorrow and we’re heading into the Autumn just as I find a salad dressing that tastes amazing….Pomegranate Molasses!
I’m not a cook but this dressing is quick and easy to make and adds so much flavour to the simplest of salads. Just whisk together 1 tbsp pomegranate molasses, 6 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp white wine vinegar and season with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.
Not only does it taste really good (it has a sweet and sour taste) but it has a long list of benefits…..here’s a couple of the more notable ones :
Immune System Benefits
Pomegranate molasses are high in vitamin C and contain other antioxidants that are beneficial to your immune system.
Lower Cholesterol
Pomegranates contain a higher amount of polyphenol antioxidants than most fruits which may help to reduce the accumulation of cholesterol in your arteries.
Vitamin B Benefits
Pomegranate molasses contains several B vitamins which aid the healthy functioning of the body.
Before using the pomegranate molasses in a salad dressing I kept a bottle in the fridge and added it to water to make a squash so it’s a really useful ingredient to have around….I’m sure there are many more uses too.
