By entering this state, right on the limit of being awake and asleep, we activate the body’s relaxation response, reducing the production of stress hormones and promoting the release of endorphins, our natural “feel-good” chemicals. With a regular nidra meditation practice this can help alleviate anxiety, improve sleep quality and enhance overall resilience to stress, creating a solid foundation for our well-being. Being in this liminal state allows a natural healing process to occur and by regularly engaging in this healing process, we foster emotional balance, resilience, and a greater sense of inner peace.
