This internationally recognised programme, developed by Dr. John Thie, is the foundation of all kinesiology modalities and has helped millions worldwide. Suitable for complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike, Touch for Health teaches you how to balance 42 muscles, improve energy flow, release stress, support posture, reduce pain, and enhance vitality.
The course is taught in four 15-hour workshops and upon completion of each level, you’ll receive a Certificate of Attendance from the International Kinesiology College (IKC). Once you’ve completed TFH Levels 1–4, you may choose to continue with TFH Proficiency, a supportive, student-led workshop designed to help you bring everything together. It’s your chance to revisit areas you’d like more clarity on, ask questions, and really build confidence in your skills. You’ll also explore the essentials of working with clients, so you feel ready to share Touch for Health beyond friends and family. With successful completion of the Proficiency Assessment, you’ll be able to gain insurance, join the Kinesiology Federation as a TFH Proficient, and take your first steps into professional practice.
Accessible and practical, Touch for Health empowers you to bring harmony, health, and wellbeing to yourself and others.
Level 1 is the perfect introduction to Kinesiology, giving you practical tools you can use right away for greater health and wellbeing. You’ll learn to balance 14 key muscles and their related meridian and organ systems, supporting improved posture, vitality, and overall balance. Through simple yet powerful techniques you’ll discover how to reduce pain, release emotional stress, boost energy, and even identify foods that best support your body. This hands-on training is suitable for complete beginners and provides practical and powerful skills you can use for yourself, your family, and others.
Level 2 builds on the foundations of Level 1, taking you deeper into the body’s energy systems. You’ll explore how energy flows through the Traditional Chinese Law of the 5 Elements, the Meridian Wheel, and the principles of Yin and Yang, including the balance of over- and under-energy.
You’ll also learn practical methods for identifying food sensitivities and releasing emotional stress patterns that may affect wellbeing and performance. These techniques give you the tools to create more precise and effective energy balances for yourself and others.
Level 3 takes your practice to a new level by working with the full set of 42 muscles for complete Five Element integration. You’ll learn Reactive Muscle Resets to enhance movement and performance, and explore techniques to address gait and postural imbalances, ensuring groups of muscles work together in harmony.
This stage also introduces the use of colour as a way to balance energy, expanding your toolkit for restoring vitality. Level 3 is all about aligning the body to function as a cohesive and balanced whole.
Level 4 completes your core Touch for Health training, bringing together everything you’ve learned into a comprehensive holistic system. You’ll deepen your emotional balancing skills, learning to release stress held in muscle memory and work with more profound personal goals.
This level also introduces balancing with sound, exploring Tibetan energy flows, and advanced postural and energetic corrections. On completion of Level 4, you’ll have a powerful toolkit for whole-person wellbeing, and you’ll receive an internationally recognised IKC certificate, marking your achievement in completing the TFH Synthesis.
With the completion of Level 4, you’ll have the full Touch for Health toolkit at your fingertips. Many students choose to continue with TFH Proficiency, a supportive class that consolidates your learning, answers your questions, and builds confidence in applying your skills. It’s also the stepping stone for those wishing to begin working with the public and pursuing professional practice.
This final 15 hour module is a review of TFH Synthesis and putting it all into practise. A final practical and written assessment then leads to the award of IKC Certificate of Proficiency in Touch For Health Kinesiology.
